The thing is. I happen to believe that in the hypothetical event of Herr Kürsch ever deciding to go full-blown opera, he’d most likely be a Wagnerian tenor.
Of course, it’s just a hunch – because you can’t really assess potential operatic voice listening to something which is, well, not operatic.
But my ears are fairly sure that operatic baritones sound very, very differently.

…and yup, I believe that historically, Hansi Kürsch is the same to Teutonic sympho/power/whatever metal as Lauritz Melchior was to Wagnerian opera. Why not Klaus Meine? Well, Herr Meine is the wrong Fach =D
